What can I do?

If you are concerned about the direction of the ELCIC:

Get Informed

  • Understand the issues. Being well informed, including faithfully listening to Scripture, is the best defence against the erroneous and misleading arguments that some have put forward within the church.
  • Help others by directing them to quality information. This site is one source of information from a solidly Scriptural perspective. Share this information with others who do not have access to the Internet.
  • Tell others about the Solid Ground web site - within your congregation but also friends and family in other ELCIC congregations, near and far.

Speak Out

  • Let your church council and fellow parishioners know where you stand.
  • Write to your synod bishop and synod council.
  • Write to the national bishop and National Church Council.

Pray

  • Pray that the ELCIC remains faithful to the Word of God according to the Lutheran Confessions.

Get Involved

  • Make sure your congregation is deliberate about who it selects to be a delegate to Synodical and National Conventions.
  • Depending on your particular talents, consider further outreach, perhaps by writing an article for publication in your congregational newsletter, the Canada Lutheran, a synodical publication, or on this site.
  • Lend support to Solid Ground by offering to share your time and talents, for example, by volunteering to be a Solid Ground contact person for your congregation, and by making a donation to support Solid Ground's efforts.
Please contact us to let us know that we have your support and that you wish to take a stand on the authority of Scripture alongside your neighbours in the faith:
