Communities of Grace
will be intentional in their welcoming ministry to all people
in the Word of the Gospel and power of the Holy Spirit.
Communities of Grace
are committed to providing a safe, loving and welcoming
place to worship for people who struggle with various sinful
sexual behaviours.
Communities of Grace
commit to the principle of confidentiality, allowing the person
who struggles with sinful sexual behaviours to be the one to decide
the degree to which he/she "comes out" to family and
friends.
Communities of Grace
will provide access to ministries, education and information
clarifying the issues surrounding homosexuality and other sexual
dysfunctions. Ministries such as Rivers of Grace Ministries
in Calgary or F.L.LG.H.T. Ministries in Edmonton are more than
willing to help congregations committed to the healing of sexual
sin, be it heterosexual or homosexual in nature.
Communities of Grace
commit to maintaining good relationships with ministries
undertaking the healing of sexual dysfunction, inviting their
representatives to present their programs to the congregation,
providing them with space and resources for conducting their
meetings, and referring to them those in our congregations who
seek freedom from sexual sin.
Communities of Grace
commit to the seeking of ways to be more understanding and
welcoming to those who have been the subject of violence, ugly
words, hatred, fear, and who have suffered much pain in the
midst of this controversy.
Communities of Grace
commit to seeing the person who struggles, more so than
the politics and ideology that surrounds them. Communities of
Grace will strive to echo the words and actions of Jesus in
not condoning the sin, but in loving the sinner.
