takingastand Rally

Come to the "takingastand" rally if you are concerned about the ELCIC National Church Council's "Resolution on Same Sex Blessings" to be voted upon at the 2005 National Convention. Follow this link for more information.

Other "takingastand" rallies are being planned: Unity Lutheran Church, Medicine Hat, Alberta on Saturday, April 30 at 7:00 pm; others are being planned.

Solid Ground Prayer Meeting

Solid Ground has arranged another Bible study and prayer meeting to be held at Resurrection College on the campus of the University of Waterloo. The cost of $18 per person includes breaks and lunch refreshments. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.; worship at 9:15 a.m. Coffee and muffins will be available in the cafeteria at 8:30 a.m. The day will conclude between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. so attendees can make a reasonable start for home.

We are here to support one another. Hopefully those who will be delegates to National Convention will be encouraged to attend.

DVDs containing presentations made at conference are currently available. There are two options:

1) A set of 5 DVDs, containing the presentations made by Father Raymond de Souza ("Not So Private After All: The Public Consequences of the Church's Teaching on Sexuality"), Rev. Phillip Max Johnson ("What's At Stake Doctrinally"), Dr. Robert Gagnon ("What's At Stake for Biblical Interpretation?"), Rev. Amy Schifrin ("What's at Stake for worship? The Marriage Rite as Performative Exegesis"), and Rev. Dawn McDonald ("What's at Stake for Those Who Seek Healing? Excluded Voices").

2) A set of 3 DVDs, containing the presentations made by Dr. Robert Gagnon ("What's At Stake for Biblical Interpretation?"), Rev. Amy Schifrin ("What's at Stake for worship? The Marriage Rite as Performative Exegesis"), and Rev. Dawn McDonald ("What's at Stake for Those Who Seek Healing? Excluded Voices").

Each set of 5 DVDs can be purchased at a cost of $50 and each set of 3 DVDs can be purchased at a cost of $30. To purchase, make a cheque payable to "St. Albert Lutheran Church", designate it to "What's At Stake" in the memo portion, and send it to the following address:
